I've Been Waiting to Tell You…

Hey, Reader!

It's been a few weeks since my last newsletter, but I promise it's been for a good reason.

Behind the scenes, my team and I have been working on some exciting projects that I'm finally able to share!

First up: Season 4 of the Creating Superfans Podcast is officially here!

I can honestly say I’ve never been this excited about the podcast before. There was a long gap between seasons — in part due to my crazy travel schedule, but also because I was busy lining up the MOST epic guests, and recording some solo episodes I think you’re gonna love.

I’m kicking off the new season with a behind-the-scenes episode that's a little different from my usual conversations about customer experience. One of the questions I get asked more than almost anything else is: How do you travel 70+ times a year, raise two young kids, and still stay sane?

Since I get the question so often, I figured it was as good a place as any to kick off the new season. :) In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on the systems, routines, and mindset shifts that make it possible—from the travel hacks that have saved me countless hours to the family rituals that help my boys feel connected even when I'm on the road.

I even share the unusual agreement my kids negotiated that completely changed how they think about my travel schedule.

Spoiler: if you’re a parent who travels for work, you’re probably going to want to steal it!

Whether you travel every week or only a few times a year, you’re going to walk away with at least one idea that makes life a little easier, and hopefully several!

We're also doing something new this season: every episode will be available as a full video on YouTube, so whether you prefer to listen or watch, you can join the conversation however you like. ⬇️

But that's not the only thing that's new!

There are lots of aesthetic changes rolling out soon (more on that below!), and one change you may notice is that I will occasionally include ads in this newsletter for companies and products I think many subscribers on this list will enjoy and benefit from. I’ll never share your contact information, and there will be no impact on you unless you click. If you do, I earn a small commission (usually pennies) and you’ll learn about a cool company. Win, win!

This week, I’m spotlighting my favorite AI-based newsletter. It’s an easy way to stay up to date with the biggest and most important things happening with AI. I think the name is pretty cool, too. :) Check out Superhuman.ai below:

Now, back to the regularly-scheduled newsletter content! 😎

If you found the podcast in your favorite app, you may have noticed the cover art has been refreshed, too. That's because I'm officially rolling out a brand-new look for my business! ✨

If you've seen me speak recently, you've already gotten a sneak peek—my keynote slides were the first place we introduced the new brand. Over the coming weeks and months, you'll start to see it show up across my social media, website, and everywhere else my brand lives.

Which naturally raises the question...

Why rebrand?

Sometimes people see a rebrand and assume, “Something must not be working!” I can confirm that that’s 100% not the case here! I just finished one of the busiest half-years ever, with 40 speaking engagements between January and June. And my book, which has been in print for 3.5 years, just went into its third pressing, with nearly 30,000 copies sold since its release.

So, why the change?

The answer is actually pretty simple: I spend my career helping organizations create intentional customer experiences. Every interaction communicates something. Every detail either reinforces what you stand for—or creates confusion.

Your brand works the same way. It's not just your logo or your color palette. It's the feeling people get before you've even said a word.

That's why I wanted this new visual identity to communicate something deeper than "this looks nice." We leaned into a mid-century modern aesthetic because its philosophy mirrors what I believe about customer experience.

Great design doesn't chase trends. It solves problems in ways that stand the test of time. Creating superfans works the same way. The tools we use will evolve. Technology will change. AI will continue to reshape how we work. But the fundamentals of human connection don't change. People still want to feel seen. They still remember how you made them feel. They still tell other people about remarkable experiences. ✨

Those ideas are timeless. In fact, I'd argue they're one of the best ways to future-proof your business. That's what I wanted this new brand to communicate… not that I'm chasing what's next. That I'm doubling down on what lasts.

Annnnd if I’m 100% honest, it’s because I love the vibe! I would’ve gone full-on Jetsons without a team of adults in the room (thanks, Alix, and the team at Ghost Ranch!) who helped balance my love of all things atomic-age with the realities of 2026. 🚀😎

Help Me Make Season 4 Even Better

I spend a lot of time encouraging organizations to ask for customer feedback, so it only seems fair that I ask for yours. 😊 If there's a topic you'd like me to cover or someone you'd love to hear on the podcast, just hit reply and tell me. I'd love to hear your ideas.

I'm excited to have you along for this next chapter—both with the podcast and with everything else that's coming. Thanks, as always, for being here.

Hey, Reader! My oldest son, Kadoh, recently told me I'm a great "Pokémom" — that is, mom to a Pokémon superfan. It was high praise… and well-earned. In the past month, I've waited outside stores before they opened, stayed up late in virtual queues, and attended multiple card shows—all in pursuit of Pokémon cards. Why? Because my eight-year-old son, Kadoh, is a Pokémon superfan. And watching that fandom up close has reminded me that Pokémon isn't just a game. It's one of the greatest...

Hey, Reader! Think about the last time a brand genuinely wowed you when something went wrong. I'm guessing you still remember it. I'm guessing you've told someone about it. Now think about the last time a brand made things worse when something went wrong. I'm really guessing you still remember that one. And I'm guessing you've told a lot of people about it. Most companies treat complaints as a customer service problem. They're not. They're a brand problem. Or more accurately, a brand...

Hey, Reader! This morning, I’m speaking to the National Sporting Goods Association in Nashville about creating superfans in a competitive market. I’m excited to spend the day with team dealers, retailers, manufacturers, and industry leaders who are all navigating evolving customer expectations. During one of my prep calls with the association, their team shared something that really stuck with me: Many of their members are doing things for customers today that they never would’ve imagined...
